Exciting time of the year!

For Stampin' Up! demonstrators and customers this is a most exciting time of the year.

  • We have 2 days left to place orders from the spring/summer mini.  There is no guarantee that items in it will be carried into the new catalogues but I have my fingers crossed for some things!

  • The Reason to Smile promotion of a free stamp set if you spend £60 has only 2 days left too!

  • The fabulous new Autumn/Winter catalogue is launched from the 1st September - a new, A4 sized 40 page catalogue packed with amazing Christmas, Harvest, Halloween and other festivals stamp sets, ribbons, papers and die cutting goodies.

  • The famous retired list is launched giving you 1 month to buy those stamp sets and other goodies you keep meaning to but now find won't be in the new catalogue.  I hope there's not too many on my list of 'must haves'as I also want money for the new catalogue!

  • Demonstrators get their first look at the new Annual Catalogue and a chance to purchase some of the items to tempt you with.

  • Demonstrators also get to buy the new in-colour inks, markers and cardstock!

Are you excited as I am? - I'm not sure if you can be - as I've seen the Autumn/Winter catalogue!  Oh boy, I think I'll host my own party at the rate my list is growing!  Does anyone want to join me?

Stamp Clubs!

Are you like me and have a list as long as your arm of crafty goodies you want but can't afford it all at once?  Would you like 'free' money to spend in the Stampin' Up! catalogues?  They why not join my Stamp Club?

The members of the group commit to spend a minimum amount each month which together totals £150 - the magic number for a hostess party!!  Each person in turn gets to be the hostess for this party and has an extra £25 (or more!) to spend on either the special hostess stamp sets or anything else at all in the catalogues.  Of course you can spend more than your minimum and you can collect orders from friends in your hostess month to boost your party income, earning you more to spend.

All Stamp Club members receive free catalogues during the club term - so this will be the Autumn Winter Catalogue AND the brand new Annual Catalogue due out on the 1st October (worth over £6 in total)  You may possibly get the Spring/Summer one too!!

How much will it cost?  That's up to you!  There are 3 options:

A)  Stampers 10 - Spend a minimum of £15 plus postage for 10 months. (need 10 people before we can go)
B)  Stampers 6 - Spend a minumum of £25 plus postage for 6 months. (needs 6 people)
C)  Stampers Quarterly - Spend a minumum of £37.50 plus postage in October, January, April and July. (needs 4 people)

Postage will be based on the number of people in the group to cover postage to me plus whatever it costs to post it to you. So for Stampers 10 this will be 50p min, Stampers 6 is 83p min and stampers Quarterly is £1.25

As soon as we have enough members we can get going - so what are you waiting for?!

Wish Tree Tags

A lovely basket of tags for a beautiful little girl's christening.

I can't wait to see a photo of these all hanging from the tree.  I'm so sad that I can't go to the christening but I'm away with 100 Brownies & Guides on pack holiday that weekend!

Happy 70th Birthday!

I don't know if you're aware but when you sign up to be a demonstrator you sign up under an existing demo who becomes your upline.

Me and my upline Maggie go back a few years now.  We got together through a scrapbooking forum and I became her adoptive 'mummy' to help her learn the forum and anything else relating to scrapping as she was new to it.  It also helped that she lives relatively close to me.  Fast forward and here we are - she's my 'mummy' in relation to Stampin' Up!  She's there and helps me with all aspects of being a demo - how to fill in forms, when we can order things etc.  She sent me a beautiful gift a couple of weeks ago of patterened paper samples - a great tool for me to use at workshops, classes and parties (I will show it to you at a later date so you can oggle at all the pretty papers!)

What I hadn't quite realised is what a great 'family' I was also signing up under with the Tartan Stampers!  Maggie's upline, my 'Grannie' (Sorry Dawn!) looks after all of her brood and we all chat, and share inspiration.  We have our own trainings - we have a sold out one coming up at the end of September that I can't wait for.  We even have our own mini conventions too - a retreat centering round Stampin' Up! and fun.

These are all fun benefits of joining Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator and come in addition to the discounted supplies for yoruself and the chance to earn not only some extra money but incentive trips like the one just announced to the Western Carribean in 2014!

How can you say no to all that?!  Contact me and I can be your 'Stampin' Up! mummy'!  I will help you choose your starter kit and fill in the forms.

I can't leave you without a card to see - another oldie off my SD card.  It's only when I look back like this I can see actually how many orders I actually do!  A pretty 70th Birthday card using peg stamps in delicate colours.  I love these stamps as you don't have to worry about placement or overlapping.

Oldies but Goodies

More oldies that I found on the SD card!

This one uses the retired Beware Pirates! stamp set by Stampin' Up along with a computer printed sentiment and some old papers I had from costco years ago.

Remember this one from last year?  Well it was Sarah's birthday again so the owl was this year's card.

I love the owl punch as you can make him look so different each time depending on what colours you use for his tummy and eyes.  I've just finished making about 25 tags  with the little owls on for my craft stall.  It's seriously lacking in stock so I should get on with making lots more - and that's before I start making things for the Christmas season!!

New baby set

I was looking through my SD card trying to make more room on it to take photos of my son decked out in his scout uniform and kilt for an amazing trip to Switzerland and came across some cards I've not shown you.  These are pre-Stampin' Up! demo status and use lots of non-SU stuff.  I don't see the point of throwing it away when it's still good stuff.  But, I'll replace it with SU stuff which is so easy to use as it's all colour co-ordinated for you!

This was a set of digi print Thank You cards in a giftbag for my daughter's teacher who was leaving to have a baby last year, with a co-ordinating card.  Digi files are so easy to use, especially when you want many of the same design.

This one is a cross between a bit of digi with the fireplace, some old papers and decoupage'd doggies.  The brief for this was a christmas card with a scottie and westie dog on.  I'd had these decoupage sheets for ages so it was great being able to use them at last!

Fantastic News from Stampin Up!

Great things are happening at Stampin’ Up! We are excited to announce a new catalogue strategy

We are thrilled about these changes, and are looking forward excitedly for the new strategy to begin!

So what are the changes?
Moving forward, Stampin’ Up! will release one annual catalogue, comparable to (but larger than) the current Idea Book & Catalogue, and two seasonal catalogues, comparable to (but larger than) the current mini catalogues.

The annual catalogue will be available at the same time as the Austrailian , and only a month after the release of the North American catalogue. Even better, both the annual and seasonal catalogues will contain almost all of the same products (with some exceptions) that are available in North America! (As far as I can work out it is probably the Design Studio software that we won't get)

The annual catalogue will contain more of our core products, and the seasonal catalogues allow us the opportunity to supplement our core offering with more trendy and seasonal products. Also, the same number of translated/localised stamp sets will be available, but the translated sets will be available in clear-mount only.

Because aligning the markets involves a lot of moving parts, we will be using the 2012-2013 catalogue year as a transition period, and will finalise the alignment with the release of the 2013-2014 annual catalogue.

Here are the details:
Annual Catalogue
  • The 2012-2013 annual catalogue will run from 1 October, 2012 through 30 June, 2013. You may notice that this catalogue will only be live for nine months.  The 2013-2014 annual catalogue will go live on 1 July, 2013, at the same time as the South Pacific catalogue, and a month after the North American catalogue, and the alignment will be complete.
  • The annual catalogue will be increased from 133 pages in the current Idea Book & Catalogue to 204 pages. This increase is to accommodate all of the products that were previously only available in North America!

We are very excited that the new annual catalogue will contain a significantly increased product offering--which will help you appeal to a wider audience--without increasing the catalogue price for you.

Seasonal Catalogues
Just as exciting as the increased product offering in the new annual catalogue, is the fact that now you will also have two larger seasonal catalogues. Both of these catalogues will be available within a month of the North American seasonal catalogues, and will have an almost identical product offering!
  • The Mini Catalogues will be replaced by two seasonal catalogues called the autumn/winter and the spring/summer catalogues.
  • The first autumn/winter catalogue will run from 1 September, 2012 through 31 January, 2013. You will notice that this year the autumn/winter catalogue launches one month prior to the release of the annual catalogue. We chose to make sure you had this new seasonal catalogue during this transition year, even though there is some overlap that will not exist after the alignment is complete.
  • The first spring/summer catalogue will run from the beginning of February, 2013  through 30 June, 2013.
  • The seasonal catalogues will be larger in both size (21.6 cm x 27.9 cm) and page count (about 40 pages) than the current mini catalogues.
I really can't wait for our bigger and better than ever new catalogue in October and our Brand new Autumn/Winter mini in September!!

This Month's Offers - and the Mojo returns!!

I've been in a craftless place lately as my Mojo well and truly ran off.  Not good when you had card orders to do and classes to plan!  But, after a 3 week long cold I have more energy and it seems to be returning, just as my stamp-a-ma-jig goes missing.  That's not good either when your ideas all need it!  Time to purchase another I think....

Have you seen the new Summer Mini catalogue?  There is some stunning stamp sets, papers and accessories!  I may just have to treat myself to the labels framelits to go with the beautiful apothecary set I bought.

Also,  Stampin’ Up! is offering a brand-new, fully customisable Starter Kit at a new lower price! For just £99, you’ll get
  • Up to £130 worth of high-quality Stampin’ Up! products - you choose exactly what you want to spend it on!
  • A business supplies pack valued at £45!
That’s a total value of up to £175! (Click here to learn more about the New Demonstrator Starter Kit.)

That's not all!  Any Demo's signing up before the end of May get to go to the SU Convention in Mainz, Germany for free!  That's worth £149!! (You do have to pay for your own accomodation and travel).  I do wish I'd signed up in May now!

So, if you've fancied becoming a demonstrator now is the perfect time to chat to me about it!!

When I find my stamp-a-ma-jig (or get my new one!) I'll show you what I made with it!!

Parties by Elin

I've been populating my Parties by Elin website today.  Why is it that you long on to create beautiful pages that you can 'see' in your head that the sight of a blank page makes everything you had thought of dissapear?!  Well I managed to put some more thoughts down and now it will have to wait for the photos until the end of the easter holidays.  Spreaking of which, why is it as soon as I arrive at the caravan it snows!!  It was 20 degrees, basking in the sun weather last week!
With it being the Easter Holidays there is little crafting happening, mainly due to me not having room in the car for all the craft paraphanalia.  That doesn't stop me creating my wishlists though!  Stampin' Up! has a fabulous offer this month -

Crafting Time!

Ok, after just reading an amazing inspirational blog I am taking some of the advice and actually setting dates for my classes and crops!

So, my plan (if anyone fancies joining me) is to host a Cardmaking Class on

  • Third Monday of the month 9.30am to noon(ish) although the first one will be Monday 23rd April (the 4th Monday in the month)
  • Third Wednesday of the month 7pm to 9.30(ish)  The first will be Wednesday 18th April.

Crop time (bring your own cardstock, embellishments, basic toolkit and glues and use my stamps and tools to work on your own cards or scrapbooks.  If you don't have these to start off with I will have some kits available for sale!)

  • First Monday of the month 9.30am to noon (ish).  The first will be Monday 7th May.
  • First Wednesday of the month 7pm to 9.30 (ish). The first will be Wednesday 2nd May.

The daytime ones may be subject to change depending upon work commitments but hopefully not.

The very first classes (Wed 18th and Mon 23rd) will be a free taster workshop where we all get to make a simple card introducing cardmaking and getting to know each other. A card something like this one - notice how I've left it blank until I find the perfect recipient then I can personalise it for any occasion!

If you are interested in any of these please contact me for more information (eg price, location) and to book your space.  Use the 'contact me' button to the right!

Friday, 30 March 2012

Look at all this free stuff!!

It was my turn to host our 'informal' stampers hostess group (the last of our agreement) and so I got to choose my free hostess gifts!

If you host a party where the total sales come to £150 or more you get to choose free stamp sets - some of which are only available to the hostess!

These are the ones I chose - I got 4!! (and some money off a punch that is still on it's way!)  The other is my free Sale-a-braition set which was earned by spending £45 in the catalogue before the end of March!

If you want to earn free goodies like these you can do this in several ways:

* Host a party with some of your friends.  I will come along and demonstrate some techniques and everyone gets to make a card too!

* Host a virtual party where we don't actually get together but you can collect orders from your friends.

* Join my Stampers 10 Group whereby 10 people sign up to spending £15 plus postage every month for 10 months.  Each person gets to be the virtual hostess one month so you can choose your free gifts.  This is a great way to get everything on your wishlist by spreading the costs and you don't need to know the other 10 people on the list either!

* Splurge and spend £150 or more yourself!

If you want any more details about any of these options don't forget to drop me a line!

Now I'm off to play with all my new stamps and punches!

Monday, 26 March 2012

Remember when I was a numpty and thought I was having to start a new blog?  Well here's the first post.  I have kept it the same as it gives the blog a lovely 'fresh start' to my new ventures!

Welcome to my little crafty corner of the world. I'm Elin, a craft addict who has decided it's about time I did something with my skills.  I have for the last few years appeared at many local craft fairs and events with my stall of cards, notebooks, bookmarks, stocking fillers and other papercrafts.

Now I am also an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator based in Ayrshire.  This will enable me to share my enthusiasm for crafting with everyone by assisting them purchase the best paper crafting tools and equipment around as well as fulfil a daydream I've had for years of hosting craft classes.

Classes round here are few and far between and it's always lovely to get together with other like minded people.

Not just that though!  I'm a big kid at heart and have been a Brown Owl for nearly 20 years so I'm going to combine my craftiness and Brown Owl skills to host children's parties - specialising in yes, you guessed it crafts!!

The craft parties are not limited to just children.  I'll be just as delighted to come along to host you an adult only craft party to create for example cards (maybe get a start on your christmas cards!), sewing, needlefelting, wedding stationery or beading with some of your friends - with or without a glass of wine!

I'll be back soon with details of my open house to come and try cardmaking or have a go at a new technique, and craft classes!

It seems I have to move!

I don't know if it's because I haven't used the blog for a while or just changes since I last used it but Blogger will not let me edit the items in the sidebar. Rather than letting you look at where I was last christmas all the time I have moved over to

Please pop over and don't forget to bookmark it!

Edited to add:  OK, I admit, I'm a dafty!  I was logged in under the wrong username!  I don't have to move so I've taken out the link.  What a silly sausage I am!
Well, I didn't manage to keep up to date very well did I?!! To be honest October to January went in a blur with craft fairs and getting ready for Christmas myself. The fairs this year were fantastic and I think people are starting to thing more about handcrafted items as gifts - yey! After Christmas I had a month off crafting which sort of turned into a few as my mojo ran away!

It's back now and I have some exciting plans for it all!

I'm setting up as a crafty party organiser - childrens or adult craft parties - you just provide a venue and food and choose your crafts. I have a new website for this although be warned, it's very much in it's infancy at the moment. The only populated part is the tradtional games parties such as pass the parcel, pin the tail on the donkey, musical chairs etc Pop over and have a look here - Don't let the basic website stop you booking a party with me - the plans are much more advanced than the website! Just drop me an email to discuss your requirements!

The other exciting news is that I've eventually signed up as an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator! I think Maggie nearly fell off her seat when I told her I wanted to sign up as she's been my demonstrator for years!

I'll be hosting an open house very soon for you to drop by, have a coffee and try your hand at making a card if you've never made one before and if you have maybe try a new technique!

Then I've almost finalised my first class - a One Sheet Wonder class where you make 10 cards in an afternoon or evening!

Look out for more information soon!
